Sixth Annual Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom presents its sixth annual Holiday in the Park, a Northern California family tradition. This year, guests can enjoy favorite holiday shows in addition to traditional festive attractions such as the popular giant snow hill, the display of a spectacular 65-foot tall Christmas tree and millions of twinkling lights. Holiday in the Park will be open weekends beginning Friday, November 23 through December 9 and daily from December 15 to January 6, 2013 (closed December 24-25).

Themed holiday areas feature life-sized toys, non-stop entertainment and festive attractions to get everyone into the holiday spirit. Among the myriad of Holiday in the Park offerings are Santa’s Workshop, where kids get their holiday photo taken with Santa; guests can stroll along Candy Cane Lane, a canopy of larger-than-life candy canes and lollipops; meet an enormous Nutcracker soldier, teddy bear and other giant-sized toys in Toy Land; walk through the fragrant aroma of Christmas Tree Forest, and meet a reindeer or two at the charming Reindeer Village.

The entertainment lineup features an array of holiday-themed wildlife shows including A Dolphin Holiday and Sea Lion Express and fun musical entertainment offerings Jingle Bell Rock and a new show, Cool Yule. The sounds of the season can be enjoyed at a hearty holiday dinner show, Happy Holidays (additional fee required). Each night, guests can watch the nightly tree-lighting ceremony and enjoy the dazzling display of lights.

Along with traditional photos with Santa Claus families can have their holiday photo taken with one of the park’s elephants in a festive setting (available 2:30-3 p.m. on operating days before Christmas).

In addition to the holiday happenings, guests can also enjoy a wide variety of holiday fare, including roasted chestnuts, hot cocoa and eggnog plus thrill to the best of the park’s rides and attractions that includes roller coasters Medusa, Roar, Kong, Cobra, the tower ride SkyScreamer and the new SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight. For the kids, E. Ben Geezer, the talking puppet is back and not-to-miss is snow sledding down Blitzen’s Wonderland Mountain.
