Trainer for a Day
This is the-once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend the day in the life of a dolphin and sea lion trainer.
The Trainer for a Day program is divided into a two-part, seven-hour day. Up to four participants work with both sea lion and dolphin trainers throughout a normal operating day. Our trainers build unique bonds and trust with the animals in their care, and we enjoy sharing that experience with Guest trainers. Everyone agrees the best part of the day is the opportunity to get in waist-deep water with the dolphins and give them signals. The next thing you know, you've just signaled a dolphin to jump 10 feet out in the air! They've also been known to give kisses and handshakes!

12 years and older
Available Friday, Saturday and Sunday on park operating days only
For safety purposes all participants must be 52” (4 feet 4 inches) or taller and at least 12 years old.
Must be able climb stairs, lift up to 50 lbs, swim without assistance, and communicate effectively in English.
Registration Includes:
- Official Discovery Kingdom Trainer for a Day T-Shirt
- Souvenir Kodak photo taken during the work day
- Animal painting that you help create throughout your day
- Lunch with your trainer includes: potato salad, cookie, water and your choice of hamburger, hot dog or Boca soy burger.
