An animal encounter is always right around the corner at the 135-acre Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. From zebras to sharks, dolphins to alligators, butterflies to elephants, and cheetahs to penguins, we have all kinds of wildlife. Check out a one-of-a-kind performance or stop by and feed a new friend. With over 30 animal attractions, 197 different species and 1,700+ animals, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has the best the "Land", "Sea" and "Sky" have to offer. Shows and Exhibits
You'll be thrilled and wowed at the new attractions and shows this year. Some of our animals perform as stars, while others can be viewed in their natural habitats and exhibits. So sit back and enjoy the show or take time to learn about the educational aspects of our wildlife. In addition to the animals, meet Captain Lee, chief explorer and park ambassador, on his daily adventures throughout the park. Catch Captain Lee during Odin's Tiger Island Splashdown Training and as Grand Marshall in the Animal Adventure Parade and Discovery Parade. See our incredible show line-up.
All Stars
While all of our animals are special, a few simply steal your heart. Some of the favorites include Taj the elephant, Jocko the wacky walrus, and the queen herself, Shouka the killer whale. Meet Merlin the dolphin and Odin, a rare white Bengal tiger who loves to swim. Two of our newest additions are Beau the Zebra and Yazhi, a young cougar cub. Learn more about our Animal All-Stars.
Everywhere You Turn
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has wildlife right around every bend. Start the day at the Animal Outpost where you can meet some of our most interesting inhabitants. Animal ambassadors are on hand to provide up-close encounters with a porcupine, anteaters, macaws and other unique critters. You can also interact with trainers, ask questions or snap a photo of one of the park's amazing animals from around the globe. Next, stop by the Explorers Outpost and sign up for animal adventures, schedule safari tours and plan your day.
Touch-Feed-Learn
Get closer than ever before through our interactive animal experiences. Special not-to-miss programs are Dolphin Discovery where you get in the water with bottlenose dolphins, Trainer for a Day which allows you to spend a whole day with our trainers of sea lions and dolphins, and Sea Lion Celebration where you can steal a kiss from one of our silly seals. Pick up a Seafari Pass to ride an elephant, feed a sea lion and more. Sharks in the Dark is an incredible overnight, sleepover adventure. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom's interactive animal experiences are presented by Bank of the West.
Babies
Bring your little ones to meet some newborns. Through viewing windows into the Veterinary Clinic's Nursery, you'll see some of the park's newest baby animals. And stop by Dolphin Discovery to meet our newest dolphin calf, Mavrick, born on October 27, 2007. You can also meet our new male Bactrian camel, born on March 11 during scheduled times during the day in our LAND area.
