SIX FLAGS FRIENDS HOSTS SECOND ANNUAL WALK IN THE PARK TO HELP ERADICATE CHILDREN'S CANCER

Online registrations open now for June 6 benefit to be held
at Six Flags America

Every thirty minutes, a family learns that one of its youngest members has cancer. In 2007, the Adkins family faced this news when their then 15-year old son and brother Paul was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Treated at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC and, with the support of family and friends, Paul has good news to share. Now 17, he's a healthy teen who looks forward to living a cancer-free life.

Six Flags Friends, the philanthropic arm of Six Flags, Inc., honors children and teens like Paul at A Walk in the Park, a special event hosted in partnership with Cure Kids Cancer. A Walk in the Park will be held at Six Flags America in Bowie, MD on Saturday, June 6, 2009, beginning at 7:00 a.m. Paul will serve as the park's ambassador for this year's family-friendly walk through Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor.

“I am honored to serve as the Children's National Medical Center ambassador for A Walk in the Park at Six Flags. As a child who has survived cancer, I know that great strides can be accomplished when the community comes together to support the fight against childhood cancer. I am very excited to be a part of the march forward conquering this challenge,” Paul said.

Online registration is open now at www.walkintheparks.org. Teams and individuals may register to walk. The $15 walker registration fee for individuals or $10 per person for groups of 10 persons or more, includes breakfast the morning of the event, a gift bag, and a t-shirt. In addition to online registration, participants may register by mailing a registration form to Cure Kids Cancer by May 26, 2009. Registration forms are available at Six Flags America and Children's National Medical Center or may be requested by calling Six Flags America at 301.249.1500 x3264.

A Walk in the Park at Six Flags America is welcome to all who wish to take a stand against childhood cancer. All proceeds raised from the local walk will benefit the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Registrants who raise more than $50 on behalf of A Walk in the Park will receive free admission to enjoy the rides, games, shows, and attractions at Six Flags America on Saturday, June 6, 2009.

Events during A Walk in the Park will include Looney Tunes characters for meet and greets and photo opportunities, and a special closing ceremony honoring survivors.

This summer, Six Flags Friends and Cure Kids Cancer will host walks at 12 Six Flags parks across the country.
