Theme Park Opens April 4 for Spring Break with a Sean Kingston and Colby O'Donis Concert April 9


Six Flags America, the premiere destination for affordable, close to home family entertainment and Maryland's only theme park, kicks off a new year of thrilling family fun on Saturday, April 4. This year marks the longest season ever with 11 additional operating days, unprecedented pricing, an exciting concert lineup and the return of an old friend. Mr. Six - the ageless, dancing, rater-of-fun will be in park all season long showing off his signature dance moves, posing for pictures, and beckoning guests to have More Flags. More Fun. To kick off the 2009 season on April 4, guests who dress like Mr. Six - from his signature glasses and red bow tie to his bald head and black suit - will be able to purchase a ticket for just $6. Additionally, there will be a Mr. Six Look-A-Like and Dance Contest where Mr. Six himself will rate contestants and prizes will be awarded to guests who receive the ultimate “Six Flags” rating in each category.

The park will offer a variety of Spring Break events beginning April 4-13 showcasing a special concert with R&B stars Sean Kingston and Colby O'Donis on Thursday, April 9 at 4:00 p.m. Admission to the concert is free with paid park admission. Preferred floor access is available for $10.00 at sixflags.com.

As part of this incredible season long celebration, Six Flags America will offer a lineup of new shows and attractions that provide top-tier entertainment as well as guest benefits that ensure a value-packed experience for the entire family. Some of the major headlines include:

  • More Concerts - The STARBURST® Summer Concert Series presented by T-Mobile® returns to headline a value-packed concert experience with a new star-studded series of today's most relevant musical performances. The park will host a total of eighteen shows with acts like Metro Station, Raven-Symoné, All American Rejects, Kevin Rudolph, and iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove expected to perform. All concerts are free with park admission or a Play Pass.

  • All-New Shows - With 44 shows presented each day, Six Flags America offers its biggest show package ever. Introducing this season: 

  • The Best of Dick Clark's Bloopers - This new interactive show in the Crazy Horse Saloon features a live host who encourages audience members to create their own blunders while watching some of the all-time great missteps from Dick Clark's collection.

  • Rhythm Stix! - The dynamic drumming spectacular showcases a plethora of percussive pieces performed by dexterous drummers in a cacophony of chaotic fun.

  • Rockin' the Country - Guests will enjoy the sounds of today's country hits presented in this song and dance spectacular.

  • PULSE! - This power-packed show combines hip-hop dance, acrobatics, step and percussion and is sure to entertain guests of all ages.

  • FUSION! - A high-energy musical journey that incorporates the most popular dances, fads and trends in a musical experience for all.

  • LOONEY TUNES Talent Show - BUGS BUNNY, DAFFY, and SYLVESTER duke it out for the title of “Most Talented Looney Tune” in this crazy all-ages stage show.

  • Capital Railways - The newly renovated Capital Railways will take guests on a family-friendly train tour of Six Flags America.

  • Johnny Rockets Express- This all new restaurant features tasty favorites. World-famous Johnny Rockets shakes, fries, onion rings and chicken tenders are on the menu at this new express location of one of the park's most popular restaurants.

  • Cold Stone Creamery - Located on Main Street, guests can enjoy pre-mixed Cold Stone favorites, waffle cone treats and chocolate dipped cones at this express version of the ice cream specialty store.

Additionally, Six Flags America offers fun for the entire family with more than 100 awe-inspiring rides and family attractions such as Tony Hawk's Halfpipe, a four-story water slide, located within the Hurricane Harbor water park, that gives guests the sensation of flying ¡ just like the professional skateboard superstar. The park also boasts 7 thrilling roller coasters ¡ headlined by the hyper-coaster Superman: Ride of Steel, one of the tallest coasters on the East Coast and Batwing, Maryland's first flying coaster. Younger guests will enjoy the spectacular themed children's area, Looney TUNES Movie Town offering a dozen pint-sized rides, special shows, and character greetings.

The park is conveniently located in the beautiful Maryland countryside, between Washington, DC, and Baltimore, and Annapolis, MD at 13710 Central Avenue in Mitchellville, MD, just 15 minutes east of Washington, 20 minutes west of Annapolis, and 40 minutes south of Baltimore.

The park is open daily Saturday, April 4 through Monday, April 13, at 10:30 a.m. The park is then open weekends starting Saturday, April 18 until Friday, May 22 when daily operation resumes.
